California Property Tax Postponement Program Applications Opens October 1

Do you or a loved one need help keeping up with residential property tax payments?

The Property Tax Postponement (PTP) Program allows eligible homeowners to postpone payment of property taxes on a primary residence.

To be eligible for PTP, you must:

  • Be at least age 62, or blind, or have a disability;
  • Own and occupy the home as your primary place of residence;
  • Have a total household income of $45,000 or less;
  • Have least 40 percent equity in the property; and
  • Other requirements.

Red Ribbon Week 2020 Goes Virtual

Stay Housed L.A. County

Los Angeles County has launched Stay Housed L.A. County, a new program which connects tenants facing eviction with legal assistance, and virtual educational workshops, to help keep county residents in their homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The new program is a partnership between the County of L.A., legal aid groups, and community-based organizations to provide emergency support to tenants in need.

SoCalGas Increasing Rebates by 50% on Energy Efficient Appliances and Smart Thermostats Now Through December 31

SoCalGas announced the company is increasing rebates by an additional 50% on all energy efficient appliances offered through its rebate program now through December 31, 2020. This means customers can get an additional 50% cash back on energy efficient products that will help them conserve energy and reduce their SoCalGas bill.

City of Hope Hosts Virtual Walk for Hope on October 4

City of Hope, a cancer research and treatment center in Duarte, will host its first-ever virtual Walk for Hope on Sunday, Oct. 4, to find a cure for breast and gynecological cancers. The annual Walk for Hope began in 1997 and is the largest public event City of Hope produces – with approximately 12,000 attendees last year who raised about $1.6 million.
