New Partnership Gives Duarte Residents Free Trees

In partnership with the City of Duarte, the CIRCLE 3.0 program will be giving away 200 trees to residents for free. Select up to three 1- or 5- gallon trees to be planted by West Coast Arborists, Inc. on your property. Available tree species include; Australian willow, Brisbane box, coast live oak, pink trumpet tree, and tipu tree. Sign up early to get the selection of your choice.

Residents need to visit, input their address, select the tree(s) they wish to be planted, and indicate where on their property the tree should be planted. Deadline to sign up online is September 26, 2019. West Coast Arborists, Inc. will also be attending the City of Duarte’s July 3rd Independence Day Celebration for the first hour. Residents are encouraged to visit the City Hall booth at the event to ask questions about the tree giveaway and sign up in person.

After the checkout process is complete, signed-up residents will need to attend the 62nd Anniversary Picnic on September 28 at Royal Oaks Park (2627 Royal Oaks Dr.) anytime from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to pick up their tree flag – make a day of it and check out the Route 66 Parade starting at 10 a.m. Flags need to be placed on their property to identify the tree planting location. West Coast Arborists will schedule and coordinate planting days with residents by email.

Benefits to having additional trees in your neighborhood include increasing your home’s value, beautifying your street, trapping air pollution, and improving public health. Adopting and caring for the tree is as easy as watering weekly.
